2. ⛽ Ethereum Wants to Make Gas Fees Invisible
Ethereum developers committed EIP-8141, known as Frame Transactions, to the 2027 Hegotá upgrade. The proposal lets one transaction contain up to 64 contract calls and separates the account taking an action from the account paying the network fee. That could let apps sponsor gas or accept stablecoins while settling ETH costs behind the scenes, so users would not need to hold ETH first. Existing wallets could gain these features without moving to smart-contract accounts, related actions could succeed or fail together, and accounts could rotate authorization keys. 3. 🛡️ Cyberattackers Are Building Their Own AI Agent Teams
Google Threat Intelligence Group says adversaries moved from basic prompting to agentic AI workflows during Q2 2026. In one case, a threat actor used an AI coding chatbot and agent instructions to plan, build, and execute a mass credential-harvesting campaign in under six hours, compromising thousands of third-party credentials. Google also tracked UNC6780 targeting PyPI, npm, and Docker Hub supply chains, including attempts to deceive AI coding assistants and security scanners. Another exposed system managed more than 23,800 harvested secrets in real time. Underground demand for Claude and Gemini accounts also grew, with average prices per account more than doubling in 2026. (Read More)

4. ⚛️ Quantinuum Posts a 137-Billion-to-One Quantum Gap
Quantinuum researchers demonstrated an exponentially growing advantage over the best classical strategy in a game that can be checked efficiently without relying on unproven assumptions about computational difficulty. Experiments on the company's H2 trapped-ion systems used thousands of circuits and up to 55 physical qubits. For the largest 37-bit problem, the theoretical gap between ideal quantum and classical strategies exceeded 137 billion to one. That number measures scores in this specific test, not a 137-billion-times speedup for a commercial task. The experiment still relies on trusted components, and scaling it will likely require better hardware and quantum error correction. (Read More)

5. 🧠 Apple Acquires Technology That Can Sense Brain Activity
EU filings revealed that Apple acquired Sonera, a company developing chip-based magnetic sensors for wearables. Sonera says its technology can non-invasively measure magnetic fields generated by electrical currents from neural activity, rather than requiring direct skin contact like conventional electrical sensors. A 2023 company announcement said its S1 chip could support a new class of wearables and experiences based on muscle activity. Apple has not disclosed what it plans to build with the technology, and the current state of Sonera's development is unclear. The acquisition nevertheless points toward new health, movement, and wearable interfaces that could work alongside Apple's AI products. (Read More)
